Criminals already conceal and open carry, so this at least level the playing field, law abiding citizens still need to seek permit, the ruling just says states cannot arbitrarily drags out the process.

New York wants to create "sensitive places" where you can't conceal or carry, but it doesn't make sense, because they're saying you have to be at least 1, 000 feet away from churches, schools, hospitals, theaters etc. I guess they forgot that you can pass these types of building every few blocks, it doesn't matter if you walk or drive. So I don't understand how that law will work, or maybe I'm wrong.

We have every right to carry for self defence . How do you get the bad Guy? Arm the Good Guy. Right now people are carrying useless items to defend themselves from being attacked on subways going from your home to work everyday. So decent People should have the right to protect themselves and families from these perps who are roaming everywhere. Once the bad guy comes to the realizations that the good guys are Armed they will back off.
