NIRF Rankings 2024: IIT Madras Tops Overall, New Categories Introduced

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the 9th edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2024. IIT Madras secured the top spot overall, followed by IISc Bengaluru and IIT Bombay. The rankings also introduced new categories: Open Universities, Skill Universities, and State-funded Universities. The event, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, was attended by Minister of State for Education Sukanto Majumdar. The NIRF plans to introduce a sustainability category in 2025.
