@99onemore - In the arcade mode shown, the game handles acceleration and brakes for you, since the goal is to pass as many cars (effectively obstacles because they're not racing you) as possible within 90 seconds. Hence for a chance of getting the highest score you must avoid colliding with any cars or barriers.

No its kinect assisted as in you may go to your garage and like walk up to your car then you can go online racing/ drifting and you can use controller.
Hope this helped.

@AnneL86 - Kinect is just an option, where driving with Kinect is for casual/arcade modes only. The core game is played with controller or driving wheel.

@shawnspeed3 - Depends on how you look at it really. Driving with Kinect is about having fun in casual/arcade racing modes. The driving wheel is for those who take sim racing more seriously than the average gamer, and therefore want the best (i.e. most accurate) experience possible.

@chuckner18 - Thanks VERY much for that feedback, it's one thing to hear the views of those who argue over how good (or not) Forza and GT are, but it's another thing to hear the views of such games from a professional driver. Thanks again. :-)

@FordGTMaster - That doesn't matter. Just because the calculations aren't of simulation it doesn't mean it uses less.

i think the way to accelerate and brake is to raise and lower your arms (not to be confused with the raising and lowering of each arm individually when turning). basically your are moving the pretend steering wheel with the kinect and you move it up to accelerate and lower it to brake.

@georgiou56 - Yes you can. Kinect is just an option, where driving using Kinect is for casual/arcade modes only. The core game is played with controller or driving wheel (but Kinect can add extra features like head tracking, auto vista mode, voice commands etc).

@laypoole123 - But that's the point, Kinect is not there to replace the controller or wheel for the main game modes, it's there to add EXTRA fun casual/arcade modes to the game, hence the arcade mode shown where the goal is to score points passing as many cars as possible in 90 seconds. The main game will need the accuracy, response and control offered by a controller or driving wheel, and therefore that's what gamers will use. Turn 10 have never said Kinect will be used for the main game modes.

@mcpwnd1 - It is auto break and acceleration because what you're seeing is an arcade driving mode in Forza 4, which is about scoring points by passing as many cars as possible in 90 seconds, it's not a main racing mode. In otherwords, it's one of a number of casual modes which is suppose to be about having fun, hence you don't have to play those modes if you don't want to. :-)

@Corellianrogue Agreed! Combined with a steering wheel with the Kinect headtracking makes the game way more better

@mrkabob3892 - The lag doesn't matter, driving with Kinect is for casual/arcade modes only, it's about having fun with or against family and friends :)

@JoeTheFucker666 - That's a Kinect arcade mode meant for fun only, where it's not about racing those other cars, it's about scoring points by passing as many cars as possible in 90 seconds.

@Ludlium - Hence the racing shown is a 90 second arcade mode (notice the timer on screen) where the aim is to score points by passing cars. Hence your arms would only hurt if you play that mode over and over and over again for hours because you're determined to beat the highest score. ;-)

MTMind

@clickthepoop - Because that mode is not a race. The purpose of that arcade/casual mode is to score points by passing as many of those cars as possible within 90 seconds. Highest score wins. :)

@StarvingOcean - The driving wheel is actually the best for sim racers, then it's the controller, and lastly Kinect (but that's not meant for serious sim racing).

@punkArmy4 So true. It's about driving, not dash stroking.

It may be a bit new and fun using your body motion to drive, on the other hand accuracy may also be a problem when it comes to the competitiveness
