Pythagoras theorem beyond triangles

preview_player
Показать описание
The Pythagoras theorem isn’t just limited to squares on a right triangle! 😮 This classic formula, a² + b² = c², works with any shape! Whether you're using triangles, hexagons, circles, or even Taylor Swift’s silhouette, the area relationships stay the same. 🌟

In this video, we break down how the theorem applies to both regular and irregular shapes. 📐

This is due to linear proportionality of area to lenght square

You are genius mam in the field of mathematics

As long as its the same shape its always equal to c²

I have a degree in maths, but was still unaware of this lol. Makes total sense though.

area in the first place is proportional to s^2, so any constant changes, whatever, doesn't change the proportionality. you can have 3s^2, 1/2pis^2, whatever.

I don't care if this is true due to "linear proportionality" or somth. The point is that both proportionality and the Pythagoras theorem are names given by us to understand what we observed. And it is clear that the natural way to go wasn't the path we took. We should have thought that it works for every shape from the very beginning. The current nomenclature arrangement causes misunderstanding of the reality of nature

to be fair, no matter what shape you use you can just factor it out and divide to get back to a²+b²=c²

If you put three different shape what will happen? 😅

What if you never had a pythagoran Taylor Swift, would it end up with great sounding mathematics?

Well known.
At highschool I draw on my T-shirt a right triangle with 3 hearts on its sides❤
I added the line: Pythagoras in love... 😂

A wild Taylor Swift has entered the battle square!

I mean, the triangle 📐

But the irregular shapes must be similar
