Circe, by Madeline Miller, is absolutely enchanting on audiobook. Read by Welsh actress Perdita Weeks.

Steven Pacey is one of the best narrators I have ever had the joy of listening to.

I’ve never read a Neil Gaiman book. I’ve only listened to him reading them to me. 10/10 best way to consume his books.

Truly nothing beats a Neil Gaiman narration, SO magical!! The only other book that has come close to that vibe is The Wickwire Watch by Jacquelyn Hagen, would highly recommend that to you!
And I personally also really love the Raven Cycle audiobooks 🤩

I agree that listening to Good Omens as a full-cast audiobook is by far the best way to to read it. Sensational!

The whole thing about Steven Pacey being a one man cast is so true. I am up to Red country in the First law series and this man's narration is utterly amazing. He may be the best narrator I have heard.

Some audiobooks I love are Nick Podehls narration for the name of the wind, January Lavoys narration of the diviners, and anything narrated by Julia Whelan

Anything by Rick Bragg that Bragg himself narrates is GOLD. Especially All Over but the Shoutin’, The Speckled Beauty, & The Most They Ever Had.

I love audiobook suggestions. The first two books of The Thursday Murder Club series must be experienced by audio. Narrator is amazing and has great comedic timing. For whatever reason the narrator changed for the third book and while fine, the performance doesn’t have the same magic. Anything by January LaVoy or Julia Whelan is also going to be a great audio experience.

Neil Gaiman and Stephen Fry could basically read me anything and I would be enthralled. And since you talked about Good Omens - the audio production for The Sandman is ridiculous. So good and very atmospheric.
The series that always comes to mind when I think about books being elevated as audiobooks is The Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch. I like the books, but I doubt I would have kept up with them if not for the audiobook versions. Kobna Holdbrook-Smith reads them. It is magical to me. So smooth and with all the accents and voices for the characters!

Jonathan Keeble narrating the Warlord Chronicles, Tania Rodrigues narrating the Empire Trilogy, Josephine Bailey narrating the Boudica Quartet & Colin Mace narrating the Bloodsworn.

Seamus Heaney reading his translation of Beowulf is pure poetry…literally. (lol) And now for something completely different…James Marsters reading Dresden. Plus the narrators you named all of whom really are exceptionally good. This is a much needed video. Thank you!

The Outlander Series narrated by Davina Porter is one of the best in my opinion. She makes those books come alive for me! The books weren’t working that well for me until I did full immersion…fabulous!

On the flip side, what books would you recommend that you HAVE to read physically?

Thanks for all the recommendations. Rivers of London is another excellent audio book series. Kubna is a fantastic narrator. Highly recommended.

Best audiobook's I've ever listened to:
Aoife McMahon's narration of The Children of Gods and Fighting Men.
Juliet Stevenson narrating any Jane Austen
Andy Serkis narration of LOTR and The Hobbit (and recently the Silmarillion)
