I applied for Pension Credit after seeing Martin Lewis in April. I hadn't thought I would qualify and I did, no problem. The government should be helping pensioners to apply. I have just written to my MP and told him that I voted for him, the first time I have EVER voted for Labour, once bitten twice shy NEVER again. So much for Reeves saying back in 2017 that Labour support pensioners. This was NOT in their manifesto

My mum is 90 with Alzheimer's, she receives a total of £1, 000 every 4 weeks in total (everything) we pay £500 every 4 weeks for social care out of that money. She now has to fully pay her TV License even though she is partially blind and partially deaf, but worse of all as her late husband who served on HMS Nigeria in WW2 on the Artic runs and died and left her slightly over the savings limit, (which she refuses to spend on principle by the way he was 99 when he passed) she gets no pension creditor any other benefit, so she now also loses the £500 winter fuel allowance. Goodness when her husband shivered in the Artic and risked his life, he really thought his Widow would be cared for in her old age, lest we forget.
