To convert (346)8 write down the binary equivalent of each digit, therefore which is (011010110)2, then perform XOR operation.

Should we first convert the octal number to decimal? Is it incorrect to directly convert from octal

for second one im getting by decimal to binary :01100110

If we dirctly convert octal to binary (3 bit method)
(011100110) We are getting 0 as MSB
Gray code is 010010101

But we convert octal(346) to decimal(230) then convert to binary is 11100110 it shows MSB as 1

Then binary to gray code is 10010101

Hence there is a difference in MSB and the remaining answer is same
