I think you should revisit this hotel as most of the construction is now finished so it’ll give a refresh look on the up to date resort

Much easier to use the buses now that skyliner is open. $25 a day to park is outrageous!! Stayed in Jamaica in 92, 94, 96 and 2015. Loved every minute of our stays. Area is beautiful and the rooms are nice considering it’s a moderate location.

It would be interesting to update this review now that the Skyliner is open. It helps with the bus transportation issue and it makes Jamaica and Trinidad much more appealing since they are closer to the skyliner station!

Great info, we are about to stay there. As for parking fees this is new to Disney but seems to be the trend at other parks and resorts like Universal Studios, even an off-site property called the Grove I think in Wintergarden that charges $35 a day resort fee and $15 a day for parking. But none the less the parking fees do stink!

Staying in Jamaica (as requested so we my cousin and I could blaze in style) we had no problem getting around with my car. This was in the late 90's. That parking charge is outrageous. $100/4 nights? That could be an entire hotel room elsewhere. The buses blow, would not stay here with out a car.

Hi. We stayed here Labor Day weekend before Hurricane Dorian. We were in Aruba, bldg. 52. The bus stop in Aruba is the last one on the resort route and it seems like you are on the bus for an eternity! I believe the Skyliner will make this resort much more attractive! We asked for rooms in Martinique or Barbados but were advised those were "preferred rooms" and more expensive than our reservations allowed. The convenient location to Old Port Royale explains the cost. The resort is beautiful and very peaceful. The parking fees are so ridiculous, but we did take advantage of the $40.00 housekeeping credit. They provided tons of fresh towels, and we didn't miss the "made up" beds at all. Will definitely stay here again when Skyliner is operating and upgrade our rooms to one of the preferred locations to have convenient access to Old Port Royale. Wouldn't mind the walking so much if we weren't already walking miles a day at the theme parks!

I think you are being a bit hard on this resort. Once the Skyliner opens, the Studios will be 5 min. away and Epcot 15 min. away. I've experienced looong waits for buses at Animal Kingdom Lodge and at Port Orleans Riverside, sooo... I believe that the addition of the Skyliner will offset any waits for buses to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. Also, I have requested a room in Jamaica near the bridge to be relatively close to Old Port Royal and the Skyliner stations. Happy to hear they are second on the bus pickup so no worries that the bus will be full by the time they get to Jamaica. Nice review though, lovely accent, will look for more as I have subscribed.

Do yourself a favor; don't go to Disney and need to use the bus system. Defeats alot of the charm.
