early steven universe is like a totally different show, there was that episode where steven fucking time travels using that lil hourglass thing which means that gems just casually figured out how to time travel and it’s never brought up again

My original theory when this came out was that Greg and Amethyst were friends first, and she introduced him to Rose. Then they started dating and he didn’t spend time with her anymore. But since the flash back episode undid that idea
