Huge Restoration - IBM ThinkPad 701C Butterfly Keyboard Laptop

Today, I'm sharing one of my biggest projects ever... I restored this IBM Thinkpad 701C Butterfly Keyboard Retro Laptop! This laptop was generously gifted to me by David who has been a member of our community for a long time. Special thanks to David!

Well done! I recently started using J B Weld too. Our first computer was bought in 1992, when our daughter started computer classes each week in JK. It was a Radio Shack Canada desktop with an Intel 386SX25 processor. The hard drive was about 20 MB. RAM was tiny maybe 640 kb? It had Windows 3.1 as well. I still use notepad and Calc every day. I miss Cardfile. We had Epic Pinball too. Ah, memories! Thanks! Lotsa love too all ❤❤❤

in 1994(ish) IBM locked me a hotel room for two months with a thinkpad 720C to create an app that talked to both OS/2 and Windows... i loved that little laptop. Always wanted a 701C with the butterfly keyboard...

I knew exactly what you were talking about step by step. I used to work for an IT company, Virtucom, and was wrongfully let go due to the fact that I had to take time off for abdominal cancer. I do still work on computers but DO NOT support the company that let me go in any way.
