I'm wondering the same thing. I know that Ray Bradbury wrote short story with a similar theme.. But it was exactly that: short. And he managed to keep it interesting by having all the astronauts hate originally hate each other but getting to appreciate each other as they communicated knowing it was the end whilst drifting to their deaths in the big void. I don't think this will be taking the same slant.

I have been a horror/sci-fi fan my whole life, I've studied them to bits and seen the same thing over and over.I'm surprised people can't see how this film will be suspenseful. Watch films like "Moon", "Solaris or "Sunshine", films that explore the subject of isolation in space and how terrifying it can be.This looks right along those lines an looks original since I can't think of a film that had people just floating in black space.THAT is the terrifying part--out in a black abyss with no control.

I don't get the negative vibe, Cuarón has proven to be an amazing director, the trailer just leaves you curious as to how it would all turn out, what the movie will be about. I can't wait to see it.

honestly this trailer just puts all of our worst nightmares into film. no communications to anyone. you are miles away from your loved ones. you are just floating around in the depths of space. you really feel how insignificant you are.

I'm not a huge Sandra Bullock fan either, but she was pretty good in Blind Side and when working with a master like Alfonso Cuaron, they can usually get certain performances out of actors that might not be expected.
