Video Synth & Circuit Bent Glitch Video Processor - LoFi Future FB-1000D
Показать описание
The FB-1000D is a feedback loop video synthesizer & composite video glitch processor based on my Homebrew VGA Converter Feedback Tutorial. The FB-1000D expands on this basic concept in many ways turning the system into a very capable digital glitch video effects system.
The converters I use in this model are of a very specific configuration to obtain the desired functionality and effects.
The first converter is a modern VGA to composite converter provides a 10 stage zoom setting and smooth directional controls and a user friendly interface that's saves your settings when powered off.
Secondly a old (discontinued) composite to VGA converter is modified (circuit bent) to provide some really interesting frame buffer glitch effects and they provide a full HD VGA output at 60hz (venue ready!)
The reasoning behind choosing this configuration of converters versus the configuration I show in my GBS8100 video synth tutorial is because the GBS8100 (or equivalent VGA to composite converter with RAM chip) is inferior to the modern models as they cant save their settings, the directional and zoom controls are very limited and it can only handle low resolution VGA inputs.
The interface is split mainly among two panels, the upper panel features the built in LCD monitor and 16 toggle switches to control the frame buffer glitch effects, the lower panel features the RGB colour and LFO controls, whilst the direction, zoom and OSD controls are situated just below the lower panel.
The rear of the unit features a myriad of I/O connections including Composite video in & out on RCA and BNC, a high definition VGA output (Venue ready!) RGB H/V on 3.5mm jacks (for interfacing with other DIY video synths such as the CHA/V and an Audio input that controls the digital glitch effects.
The construction is made out of a sloped ABS enclosure featuring hand machined 5mm cast acrylic panels. RGB LED strip is hidden among the inside of the enclosure and is controlled the 3 x LFO and mute switches for the RGB colour controls.
Features:
Composite video out (PAL & NTSC)
Composite video in (PAL & NTSC)
High resolution VGA output
Audio input (to control frame buffer glitch fx)
Built in LCD monitor
Immersive RGB lighting
3 x internal LFOs
16 toggle switches for the frame buffer glitch fx
