Miss and Hit - Paragliding video

I made the mistake and decided to pass between the trees, taking into account that I had ONLY 6-7min air time at that moment (but many hours kiting).
This is my first fly above 4min duration. It was bumpy, shaky and risky!
Few times I had the feeling I'm dropping vertically (a little bit), loosing tension on big part of the lines (before collapse), I heard 1-2 times Nylon flapping above my had (probably micro collapses?).
At the Hover point (looking directly upwind) the wind was stable. I pulled the brakes, there was enough room for more brakes to completely zero my ground speed but I didn't want to risk it that much. Maybe at this point I should have tried a full 360 right turn.
The left turn in the thermal was a pure joy (just before the trees). I started to fly more actively and I felt confidant when I looked the gap between the trees. "I can pass from here!" but during the approach the wind pushed me back, lost a bit of height. My speed bar was not attached, so "hands up" to the max! I Missed the trees but after that I was Hit by strong turbulence (wind shade from the trees, of course). The paraglider was pushed to the left (it reminds me a power kite jump thru the power zone) but most importantly - No change in the flying direction & No loss of altitude!
The missed landing was not a big surprise. I stayed calm and watched left to right where to land. The surprise was a bit harder touch down, the paraglider got speed and didn't flare at all. Maybe, it was a down stream close to the thermal edge (I ran away from the yellow grass) or something doing wrong... !?

The conditions were weird on this day!
I saw a fire 1km away from me, on left. The black smoke was coming towards me (high in the sky). I spent few minutes on the road, it was blowing from another direction (from right), constant 10-12km/h with thermals (the strip above the tree was flying upwards from time to time). So, I decided to go for side wind launch. It was not a good idea to fly on this launch side. 30-40min after my flight I felt "left wind" (150* difference) on the road, few seconds later a micro dust devil (1m high), which disappeared immediately.
So, Never again with side wind on this flying spot!! It's quite dangerous with these "thermo generators" anyway...
There is another place (500-600m on right), maybe smother wind there....

I think that your left speed system isn't correct, pulley must be outside. Why are you flying straight ahead ? Better try to soaring, weather condition looks good. Shakes and bumps is normal in paragliding :) rotors down there was gererated by buildings. Yes, 3:20 is collapse, but a little, btw you have A class paraglider, little collapses is normal state of flying :) How old is your paraglider?

Congrats!! That's quite a bunny hop too! A bit scarey that amount of wind in a "mixed" environment. Maybe don't do it again eh?
