Well, it would be good to use the same methodology for all the cities. London or NYC are city proper only, most of the rest is metropolitan area.

Why use Tokyo metropolitan population when when others don't? Example

Jakarta metropolitan population: 35.4 million

But you use Jakarta core city population in this video which is 11.4 million.

The population of São Paulo is 11.451.999. The population of Rio is 6.211.223. The supposed map of Rio doesn't show the entire city, but only a small part of it, called Zona Sul.

Tokyo is far from 37 millions, common mistake.
Tokyo as a city doesn't exist to begin with but let's say we're talking about the 21 special wards, then it's more about 14 millions
The 37 millions number is the whole Kanto area including a lot of other cities on top of the Tokyo metropolitan area (Yokohama, Saitama, Kawasaki, Kawagoe, ...)
