I've driven both VTEC and VVTI cars out on the roads at night. VTEC by Honda is usually a smoother and more comfortable ride even when hard accelerating. But I'd have to go with the VVTI in my 2005 Camry Sportivo. It throws you in the back of your seat very harshly and feels much more like a true sports car. Though I loved the many times within my mate's Honda NSX which by all means is an absolute beast of a machine, there is just no denying how brutal the throwback is of a VVTI Toyota Camry is. Being completely honest, I found the VVTI to kick in more than VTEC but VTEC is still a very smooth and genius design.

Toyotas version of vtec is called VVTL-I. It is variable valve timing with valve lift control.

in our country vtec are super rare engine so i must use high performance camshaft for better valve lifting to boost that vvt-i engine but it also decrease the fuel effciency

VVT can be louder at high rev, but I prefer VTEC. 💪

If you CAN mistake the crankshaft with the camshaft, you shouldn't even TOUCH a damn car engine.

I’ve only ever drove VVTI in the Celica GTS … never felt anything engage .. don’t get me wrong it’s not like Vtech is super noticeable power wise “stock” … but at least in the sound you can hear the crossover and somewhat feel the Rpm’s climb faster…
