How do folks👋🏽 This is part one of a series from my recent road trip around the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. I had been at home in Wales for a while and something that quite often happens happened. I got itchy feet. I felt the need for a few nights away to somewhere new but not too far away. I pulled the map out and had a little gander 🗺️

As I was looking I realised that when I'm here in the UK I generally, if not always, look for places on the West or South coast of the UK. So with this in mind I purposely decided to chose somewhere on the East. Let's see what the East has to offer.

After a couple of hours had passed I'd done enough research. I decided on the North Yorkshire Moors NP and within that couple of hours I'd booked 3 night in Saltburn-By-The-Sea. A sleepy seaside town. It was a good location to base myself and it was right on the coast, perfect 👌🏽

So come and join me as I arrive and explore this part of the coastline. Beginning in lovely Saltburn-By-The-Sea, which has one of the most traditional and beautiful piers in the UK. With an arcade included. It really is special and a fairly unknown little gem 😁

Really pleased to see you enjoying my home turf

Many happy memories of the ship. Lots of nights out and family meals

The houses on the cliff top are the old coastguard cottages. A long while since that’s been their use. But what they were originally :)

The small building on the corner opposite the Ship (directly opposite where you saw the lady on the horse) was the old mortuary for sailors and used to have a little church next to it too :)

One of the best coastal lines in Britain biny opinion. You should continue the walk on Cleveland Way to Skinningrove gets really beautiful when you get to the train tracks. Also in Saltburn you have the Italian gardens. You can get a train to Redcar or a bus all the way to Whitby which is beautiful too.

Don't go to the edge of the cliff - it could be concave underneath and ready to fall, and so would you. Very dangerous cliffs. Please be careful.
