As far as I know Iridium and Globalstar don't have the license to operate satellite phones in India. Inmarsat is allowed. So most likely this service won't be available in India. Or they might tie up with Inmarsat in India.

I like that they are trying to raise the height at which they are holding the phone. I don't know how it works but if that makes a difference then I don't think that satellite connectivity will be that useful. We've just moved on from being glued to the chargers ( except Apple users)
