425HP Ford Escape Swapped Mustang is Shockingly Impressive

Just when I thought I had seen it all my buddy Dalton took a $600 Ford Escape engine and swapped it into his Foxbody Mustang. This 100,000 mile engine ended up making 425HP to the wheels with a Focus ST big turbo kit, making this thing faster than the original 5.0 V8. So what's it take to have your own Ecoboost swapped Foxbody Mustang? Let's talk about it.

I won’t be surprised if this is the new affordable drift car swap. How about you?

It was so fun to hang out and film! Now I gotta start buying up some Ecoboost engines before the price skyrockets.

My favorite kind of swap- repurposing something that wasn’t being used, budget friendly, and is fun. Thanks for this!

2.0 is a closed deck vs 2.3 so its better suited to handle more boost/bigger turbo. Most swaps will use the 2.3 head w/ the 2.0 block for better head flow and stronger bottom end.

I put a 2.0 Ecoboost in my 91 MR2 a few years ago. It has been a great swap.

The ecoboost 2.0 price point was the deciding factor in buying my ST. Imo, it’s the best power per dollar engine out there. Ecoboost 2.0 foxbody is cool af!

I’m really glad to see there are still genuine car guys out there not caring what other people think, willing to work and wrench and fabricate to make their toy exactly what they want! Purists would probably diss this car but purists suck :) this is such a sick ass build through and through. Just saw the thumbnail and I’ve never clicked on a video faster, and it didn’t disappoint! The mismatched paint and the meaty wheel tire setup with those wide fenders are absolutely perfect, it’s art honestly. Please keep doing your thing Dalton :)

It's starting to become one of the best swaps for S-chassis, E36, BRZ, and a lot of other platforms. JEM Sport is really making it super easy to put the 2.0 and 2.3 Ecoboosts into a lot of chassis.

getting this engine is almost as good a deal as me getting my 4.6 4v for 500$. threw another 6-700 at it and resealed it top to bottom, got long tubes and a tune and it RIPS

Thanks for the quick shoutout!

We hold the World Record for the Quickest & Fastest Mustang EcoBoost!

We made over 1, 000whp last year and this year we switched to a Compound Turbo setup to go #7s at the 1/4 mile.

Brilliant and economical swap! Puts down just enough power to have fun and replacement parts are infinite! Awesome swap and awesome review David!

It's a remake of the 84 turbo SVO. Nice. They were fun, almost bought one back in 96.

People knock on the Ecoboosts, but they’re really easy to work on, make good power, have a huge aftermarket and are cheap.

I will be Ecoboost swapping a Ranger pretty soon. I love seeing this type engine in older vehicles

Man I saw this really cool engine swap build. The build was a hatchback STI so the 2009 gen but the owner dropped the ej for a 2jz then dropped the 2j for a Toyota century v12 and then twin turboed the thing and also the owner is using a BMW DCT. The crazy things people do to have fun! the owner never said how much power the v12tt set up made. The car is also going to sema apparently

What an interesting idea. There are so many of those engines around. Why not use one of them?! Very freaking cool. I been looking at an early 80s Fairmont I could get pretty cheap. Was looking at it for an LS swap but gosh darn it, I’m halfway thru the video and I’m thinking this is what I need to do. This is amazing

I currently drive a 2014 Ford Escape EcoBoost for my daily. I have put 150k miles on it over the past 10 years and it has been surprisingly reliable (I'm neurotic about maintenance). Aside from my '99 Camry that was bulletproof, I didn't know what to expect with a Ford since everyone around me always blasted them for "being cheap and expect them to brake down".
