I completely agree, thank you Ben. Could I share my opinion - forget about motivation, because motivation is our mood. Trouble at work or college destroys the mood and there is no desire to study. But just consistency is better than motivation. No mood - you can read, listen to podcasts. Consistency in study is better than waiting for inspiration🙂

Sometimes it's automatic, I hit the "like" even before you speak 😄

I really love English! I remember that I started learning English alone when I was 13 years old. My family didn't send me to highschool for the economy situation, but I really wanted to learn something, so I started borrowing English workbooks from my relatives and friends, I also got some cassettes, and I began to realize how beautiful is to have the ability to learn a different language, how challenging it is, and all of a sudden one day I realized that I had stopped translating in my mind and I think, that is the prize to be constant, we never stop learning, I continue with my journey now, I am also trying to learn Portuguese and German, and I keep practicing English every single day! Thanks for being such a nice person!😊

I have been studying english for quite sometime, mostly through tv shows. Over the last 7 months I decided to study in a different way, through reading, like BBC, CNN and FOX and I can assure you that my written has improved a lot. As I work with foreign trade, I use my english on a daily basis and since then i felt more confident and I have a ton of new words to type out when I writing an email. Only I had known what I had to do to level up my english was to read, I would have started it sooner

Agree, reading helps a lot and it helped me with my first steps with learning language. You can see a structure, logic, grammar, perhaps not that obviously but your brain works hard and you dont notice but see results. My level is B2 today and I've got a work of dream for which I started learning English 2 year ago. Honestly, if I had had that experience in learning I have now, It would have been easier and faster. Just don't give up, guys, and study every single day you have spare time and the progress will be on the corner.

Thanks ben a lot for your tips! if there would be one tip I'll take from your video it would be the second tip, which was pay more attention, since I moved to the uk, I totally got busy with the other things in life that l forgot to keep learning. I'm in a level I can understand the most conversion and reply well but I don't pay more attention to the new words and so on. so l feel my English level is just the same only my accent improved bit. thanks a lot !

I love reading very much but I don't treat it as the main way to learn new words. Instead, the old fashioned approaches, namely flashcards and "lists of words", have been working well for me. It's encouraging to see the words I've recently learnt do appear in authentic texts as a way of cross validating their usefulness. The number of C2 level words and idioms is quite crazy to be honest, I go for the Barron's approach to study 5 new words a day and 4 days a week. Then, I am free to do whatever I like, which usually turns out to be reading thriller books or random National Geographic articles or Ted talk transcripts.

I'm on the same page as you, Ben. Reading is absolutely key to learn new vocab and structures. I'm beginning to enjoy unabridged books in English, which is quite challenging for me.
Now, I need to jump in at the deep end with my speaking skills. I'm scared stiff with English pronunciation!! 🥶

Тhank you much for being supportive! And these views in the the background are wonderful) And my advice for learners is to watch series as their vocabulary is quite repetitive. You can revise words and thus remember them well

Thank you so much, Ben, for these tips. I just want to share one of the ways that I personaly find really uselful. At least it helps me learn English faster. I find a video with the content I'm intersted in. First off, after watching it a couple of times I I do kind of shadowing. Next step, I write down all the expressions that I need to retell the video or can help me boost my vocabulary. After retelling it a couple of times I go over them the next day and try to retell the video again to see how much I remember. I find your videos particularly helpful. The content, the expressions you're using and the pace make this learning process effective and enjoyable for me. Thank you.🙏
