“Its 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, a half pack of cigarettes, its dark out and we’re wearing sunglasses”. “Hit it!”

Saw this movie many many years ago. Now that I’m 80, my toes are still tapping to the music.

Elwood to bartender lady "What kind of music do you usually play here?" "Oh, we've got both kinds. Country and Western."

The world would be a better place if we could all enjoy 20 minutes of Blues Brothers joy each day.

And who could have ever guessed that Cab Calloway would have immortalized his famous "Minnie the Moocher " song from 1931, in a major motion picture? So much magic and history in this film. ♥♥♥

My only comment.
DO NOT ATTEMPT A RE, MAKE.
this movie is perfect as is.

Cab Calloway’s Minnie the Moocher was a breakout hit in the 1920’s. The fact that it was awesome 50 years later and now 100 years later is just mind glowingly awesome.

My mom would not let me see this film while in the theaters because it had an "R" rating, mostly for the language. I was devastated, still being in high school. Finally in 1983, when I was legal age, I rented a VHS player and this movie from a local 7/11 store, as, I could not afford a player then. I think I watched it about 6 times in the 24 hours I had rented the VHS machine. I was in heaven. My mom watched it with me and was not impressed at all. 😃😃😃

At the age of 72, Cab Calloway still brought a high energy performance with his signature audience call and response that would later be used to great effect by the likes of Freddy Mercury of Queen fame.

One of the best movies ever. So many of them are gone now. I am glad they left this little sample of amazing talent.

My Mom would get my brother & I out of bed on Saturday nights if Joliet Jake & Elwood were on SNL, then the movie came out when I was about 13, we watched it on a Beta Max, opened my eyes, and ears, to so much music that keeps me exploring to this day ....

By far one of the best movies and most underrated by today's crowd! Great artists, music and story line. Don't forget about the one liners! "It's dark and I'm wearing sunglasses"!

My husband & I just LOVED this movie. Our rented VHS tape was running hot when we returned it. The final scene where the Blues Bros are kind of outrunning EVERY cop car in Chicago was my husband’s fave. Me? I learned to appreciate so many artists I’d heard as a kid then finally got to watch them doing something out of kilter. I’ve been an Aretha fan since & her passing hasn’t changed that one bit. I even named a rather large black & tan dog Aretha & that was the best compliment I could ever give. RIP songstress & damned fine friend

Greatest musical ever made. One of the greatest duos ever to do it.

Best SNL movie ever. Will not be beaten ever either.
So many world class stars: Cab Galloway, Ray Charles, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, the list goes on and on...
Loved it back then as a teen, love it now.
