I forgot to add that on the Duo 2 app when you're enabling the extra cameras you must also toggle the option that says show buttons on viewfinder. Thanks to Steve Litchfield for pointing that out to me!

I did have a look into GCam ports but I got a bit frustrated not knowing how to work around different issues, so thank you and thanks to Dale Ross as well for the information :)

Fantastic info as usual, Shane! I downloaded the APK you recommended for the Duo 1 and the camera now is actually usable. I love this phone, even tho after 6 weeks it developed the flickering green screen problem on the right screen. The problem seems to have gone for now, seems brightness related - crank the level up and it seems prone to the green flashing. I found another new one for sale here in the UK for £300, which is a total bargain I think. Will keep it in the box and only use it if the problem comes back on this one. I think the Duo is the best invention since sliced bread!

don't forget to also enable the skip metadata check on the FFC. forgot to do that initially, and HDR+ didn't work with the FFC! but the same fix works there as well. thanks for keeping up on the latest and greatest gcams to use, very helpful!

Then for sharing the LMC video this year, was super helpful.

The massive difference with LMC is when you recording a rock concert. Much better sound, dynamic range, stock surface duo 2 camera app is a total crap in comparison. There is not much difference though with casual photos and outdoor video.

Any idea why the image looks super blurry when looking at the screen but the photos turn out fine. The standard Camera app is showing much better image quality even if the photos turn out worse? SD1 user here.

So, I used your suggestion for my duo 1. And I gotta say, the pictures are on a whole nother level. They turn out so much better. But my concern is that the preview window is terrible. When I look at my screen to see what I'm about to take a picture of, it's never in focus, it's a little dark, and very noisy. But as soon as I take the picture and look in my gallery, the picture looks amazing. Very odd.

Night and day difference for SD1. The camera hardware is really good! The default camera app destroyed the experience. Now is very sharp, night mode and portrait mode works really good. Is a most to use maximum resolution setting. 💪🔥 thanks

Just ran into the fingerprint hardware not found issue with my SD. I've read that some have said that it may resolve itself over time, but I'm going to try and get it replaced. Has that happened to others here?

After that, I'll try the recommended G-Cam port...

Además de mejorar las fotos que puedes hacer, mejorando el software. Una buena solución para el Surface Duo 3 es que, aprovechando el buen hacer de Microsoft con las bisagras, el módulo de la cámara tenga una bisagra hacía el lateral. Hace poco se crearon varias cámaras que se escondían o similar. Pues poniendo un bisagra en el lateral, podrías desacoplar el módulo para los selfies o también para que quede plano encima de la mesa y poderlo usar con como bloc de notas. Se ahorran la cámara interior y pueden reducir un poco los marcos manteniendo el aspect ratio de la pantalla. Al igual que por las bisagras pasan los cables y conectores no debería ser tan difícil o costoso hacerlo, teniendo en cuenta flexibilidad o durabilidad de los cables etc.
