Let me just say I found another way to cause e15. Clogged kitchen sinks and I forgot to clamp the dishwasher drain hose. Plunging away it backed up in my dishwasher. I looked at many videos. I had to clean a p trap and snake a drain and fix my self created e 15. Your video is the absolute best, the most detailed with things I need to know such as, how to pop something off where to stick the screwdriver to remove the switch sensor and lifting the bar to get the float out. I did it all confidently in my kitchen floor. Thank you!

I've been watching a lot of your Bosch videos and they are all well done! However, on my model I have easy access to the float on the left by simply pulling out the unit & lifting up the insulation (no need to disassemble the door & front panel). In fact, this video is recorded through the access I'm talking about at 4:02.

Incredibly helpful! I have Bosch shpm78w56n/01 that displayed an E15. While the error cleared, a couple of days later, the entire panel went dark. You could only hear the beep from the on/off button, nothing else would light up. I followed your instructions and sure enough, the float was tripped. The short, we'd had a clogged sink, plunged it, it back fed water into the dishwasher, and must have leaked out a hose. It was only a small amount of water too. I dried everything up and all is well now!

so the question i have is if water is being detected in the base is it not leaking from somewhere else where maybe it shouldn't be? I would think that if your safety float has failed there is multiple issues going on.

Good video. My question is, why would you need to replace the float? I got an Error 15 and then an Error 23. I can see there was water in float area (and outside it). I've replaced the drain pump but how do I know if I need to replace the float (or the switch/sensor)? TIA.
