-Last minute Poland is behind 2 points Jarecka somehow someway makes it even, what a performance, already nerve wrecking and then...
-as the next action would start suddenly, something goes wrong with the score display and it shows 31-30 for Poland.
-The coach and Jarecka believe they are winning, so they stop attacking, 10 seconds left.
-The action starts and Yu hits a score for China! The Poland team could think its ok they are even now BUT in reality its 30-31 for China!!!
-The game stops, the referee's contact with each other what is happening and finally the referee lady goes to the Poland team and tells what is up, that the score is 30-31 for China. Oh, no NO WAY, not like this, after the comeback its not even draw in fact Jarecka is on the edge of lose! She could've attacked! They cant believe it!
-4 seconds left... 30-31 for China... Jarecka must attack.
-The last try, on guard:Jarecka goes for it and scores! Now it is really a draw. The pressure is unbeliveable and it is still not over yet. She needs to win in sudden death to get the medal, one more time, one last stand.
-Overtime comes, no break, sudden death. Although Poland gets the priority if the over time run out they win automatically by the rules:
but Jarecka attacks AGAINN!444
-Jarecka charges and scores and just loses it, I lose it, I could not believe she made it.

Absolutely amazing performance from both teams. An artistic sport story. Very well deserved win.

Context. She wasn’t even meant to be at the Olympics. She was picked by a hair due to polish fencing federations favouritism. The scoreboard messed up showing us winning but in reality we were loosing. She managed not only to even the score but to go for the shot despite not having he need because of the priority. For this each competitor will get over 100k of their currency and a guaranteed retirement. This is a dream for a sports person where fencing isn’t funded at all. One of them is a lawyer on the side to earn enough money. Their dream came true and their future is secured.

Despite that every single one of them went to the other team and showed ample respect after celebrating.

It was amazing girls! Not only was the stressful and close ending of this match, but Aleksandra Jarecka had to fight for a place in the national team before the games due to corruption in the Polish fencing community. She never gave up and won her dream Olympic medal (the first ever for women épée fencing). I’m so proud of you!

Such low quality officiating should have consequences. These athletes' entire lives depend on even the smallest mistakes that the arbiter team might make. Even the Chinese athlete couldve behaved differently if the displayed scores and information transmited by judges have been correct all along.
