This time on RRC Restoration I'm taking on the challenge of restoring this 1991 Honda CR-X that I bought some time ago from a guy that had it sitting on his driveway for the best part of 20 years and now that I have some time I thought now would be a great time to get stuck in and get it restored. Its currently a 1.5X with twin carbs and an automatic transmission so not very sporty at all but through the course of this video that will all change as I plan to restore this car to OEM plus to make it a very useable car on modern roads and traffic but still retain all of that 80's charm even though its a 90's car... but we'll ignore that fact lol. Anyway lets crack on and get it in the workshop.

A new addition to my videos from now on will be a water mark and my channel name popping up in random places throughout the video as I'm getting rather tired of people re-uploading my content as their own I hope you guys understand.

If you like what you see and have any ideas for the channel or would even like to donate something to restore to the channel please get in touch. :)

And as usual if you liked the video please like share and subscribe and help the channel grow.

This is one of the few channels where I can immediately like any video that comes out. Love your topics, presentation and skills!

I was so disappointed when I saw it was an automatic. So happy when you mention the manual conversion!

That figurine is the Milma Bat from the Smelly Beasts collection.

Awesome to have a change from bikes. I'm excited to see this build!.

Nice! I had an '85 CRX-Si, with a Jackson Racing engine and suspension. It was a street-legal go-kart. I brought it from California to Spain when I moved, what a great car it was.

As soon as you said “going to do a manual conversion..” I literally went “OH HELL YEAH!!!!”

This car will be AWESOME once it gets the RRC treatment + MANUAL!!!

Right in the feels, I owned a '90 model here in South Africa. That car was my unicorn. So so much trouble I got into.

THANK YOU. For getting rid that automatic transmission.

The old dual carb setup! These are ECU controlled. The vacuum tubes go to a mysterious black box. Thanks for taking me back in time.

Had one in the late 80's during college, mine was a standard. One of the funnest cars I ever had. Thing was basically a go-cart. I'm stunned Honda hasn't brought something similar back yet!!!

I worked at a Honda dealership back in the mid to late 90s, they know how to build cars…. And bikes lol😂 brings back some memories, looking forward to this project. Great choice!

As an american... seeing a CRX with an auto trans, auto mirrors, auto windows, auto A/C... with a carb made me very jealous. Talk about options!!

Maestro at it again. I am commenting without having watched it. Why? Cuz I see 2800 people have already given it a thumbs up and that is in 3 hours.. I believe there are a few people who are delivering quality and those who watch such contributions are consistently proving that the world we live in a good number of good people are craving for quality over crap/quantity. Thank you for sharing yet another masterful rendition of values I hope people get to incorporate into their daily lives i.e. that desire to want to do the right thing & paying attention to detail.

I absolutely love the level of detail you are putting into your videos lately. A year ago, this would have been 3 minutes in a 30 minute complete disassembly video. It still would have been great, but this is just next level. The amount of extra time and effort required to film so many different steps, getting the camera and lights in place for damn near every screw, is just really impressive dedication. Thanks man!

I do remember these little CRX cars, at one time I had a Honda Concerto. The way it just started up was positive, not bad after standing idle for years. You are one of the most tidy minded people I have ever seen. to my mind it's the only way to do this kind of work without loosing parts and bolts all over the place.
