Remind Us || Lyric Video
Показать описание
|| INSPIRATION ||
Inspired by the book of Jonah, Remind Us was written out of a place of reflection over the mercies of the Lord. In the story of Jonah, we see God’s relentless love for everyone in the narrative - Jonah, a group of sailors, and even the cruel, ruthless soldiers of Nineveh. We see in the story that God is with us always - even in our rebellion, questioning, hardships, and suffering.
The song was written as a prayer that God would Remind Us of these truths and that His kindness would draw us near to Him yet again. May we rest in His unending grace and love that we see so clearly in the book of Jonah.
|| LYRICS ||
Where shall we go to escape Your glory?
No valley low, no mountain on high
When billows roll, when we cry for Your mercy
Will You remind us of your love?
Your grace flows over our failures
You search and know the depths of our souls
Our hearts are formed more like You, Jesus
As Your love pours over us
How long, Oh Lord, will we run from Your goodness?
Your mercies rich and made new everyday
When mountains shake and in anger we question
Will You remind us of Your love?
Oh Lord, Your kindness leads to repentance
No greater love I know
Oh taste and see
Through all the ages
Oh Lord, Your patience sustaining our belief
|| SCRIPTURE ||
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 NIV
But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 3: 21-24 NIV
How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me? Look on me and answer, Lord my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall. But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.
Psalm 13 NIV
To the roots of the mountains I sank down;
the earth beneath barred me in forever.
But you, Lord my God,
brought my life up from the pit.
Jonah 2:6 NIV
