I saw Hamish and his band a couple months ago in Edinburgh, and he was great, not only as a singer, but as a guitarist. It was a wonderfully intimate venue packed with longtime fans, so the sound and the response were great. I'd seen him in '76 with the AWB at the Odeon in Edinburgh - which was sensational - and about 14 years ago with his band at the 606, a club in London. As with that latter date, at the recent Edinburgh date I had the chance to chat with him. He is a straight-up person, still more like a fan than a star, though that is surely very much the Scottishness of the man.
Nice to have Robbie McIntosh mentioned. His playing gave the AWB such a deep groove. Indeed, the 'white album' is< IMO, one of the best 'feel' albums ever, due largely to Robbie's sublime feel that included a deep groove for the rest of the band to settle into.
One band not mentioned - or possibly I missed it - was Easy Pieces, which included Rene Geyer on vocal, AWB drummer Stephen Ferrone and super session bassist Anthony Jackson. As far as I know, they did one album.
I have all of Hamish's solo CDs. Disappointingly, they are not available on his website, nor on the likes of Amazon.
Thank you for featuring Hamish. Despite his success and renown amongst other musicians, he remains a talent deserving much wider recognition with the general public.

I’m just thrilled to see Hamish doing this interview! Not sure if I’m thrilled at Ms. McLin doing it?? Always wondered what happened with her after her mayoral time in office. Hope he comes to either the Ohio or DMV area..will definitely be front row! This man croons like no other…absolutely the best soulful singer!

AWB was a part of my HS senior year and college days. For blue eyes soul they were accepted and passed the black soul test. Now give the interviewer a break. I think she is or was the mayor's of Canton. Now I couldn't always understand Hamish's accent...so I'll call it a draw.

I love the fact she got the interview but she is a horrible interviewer. Constantly mis-pronounces names, we did not lean much about his time in AWB. What a disappointment.

That woman should let someone else do the interviews, she's horrible

The interviewer is awful, I can see Hamish cringe on several occasions.
