Following the election victory of United States President-elect Donald Trump, the Philippines' ambassador to the country Jose Manuel Romualdez advised the 250,000 to 300,000 illegal Filipino immigrants in the US to leave voluntarily to avoid being blacklisted.

"My advice to them is to immediately leave voluntarily because once you are deported you can never come back to the United States," Romualdez said in a forum of the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines on Friday (November 8). — Report from Victoria Tulad, ABS-CBN News

This is one of the reasons kaya weak ang passport ng Philippines. The ones to blame are those Filipinos who go to the US and stay there illegally.

Many Filipinos are “legal” immigrants. We went through the process. We pay taxes and waited years to be “petitioned”.

He ain’t wrong. I’m from Las Vegas, and yes many Filipinos voted for Trump because of illegal immigration. This and I guess they need to see changes in the administration.

Eto lang masasabi ko. If you decide to stay past the date your visa expires or came to a country without any proper documentation, you are fully aware of the the risk you are taking. It makes you vulnerable to changes in policies of the host countries you are in. Do what you have to do to survive and good luck!

Dapat, kahit sinong pangulo ng US, pinapauwi. Kasi, dapat pinapahalaghan yung batas ng ibang bansa.

Ambassador Romualdez view or "advice" to Pinoy TNTs is morally and legally correct. In case the concerned TNTs are waiting for the decision from ICS to give pardon for over-staying, I think they can wait for that decision. For the TNTs that didn't apply for pardon and those who applied for pardon but were rejected, it is best that they should leave the US and return to PH before being deported.

There was a question about if there are other options for undocumented immigrants Filipinos. None, why ? When they came to US with tourist or student Visa. They over stayed, already violated the US Immigration Law. Another being a TNT, Since they do not have a
social security number. It’s illegal to work in the US without it.

America loves Filipino's they provide care. They are not criminals and not killing people. Filipino's are one of America's strongest allies and bring strong family values not gang violence.

Let's not be hypocrites, kung nakadikit ang Pilipinas sa US by land, how many people will attempt to cross the border illegally?

If you are legal and others are illegal … what is your problem?

As if having a different passport makes you untouchable? That youre above the law? Why insinuate such idiotic idea? Natural ilegal ang ginawa nang isang filipino sa US he/she must face the consequences. And to corelate it with whatever other issues you have, is idiotic. Its a US policy of a legally elected President. Its a US immigration policy that applies not only to Filipinos but to all who is illegally staying in their country.
