'Leave voluntarily,' PH ambassador to US advises 'TNT' Filipinos after Trump win | ABS CBN News

Following the election victory of United States President-elect Donald Trump, the Philippines' ambassador to the country Jose Manuel Romualdez advised the 250,000 to 300,000 illegal Filipino immigrants in the US to leave voluntarily to avoid being blacklisted.

"My advice to them is to immediately leave voluntarily because once you are deported you can never come back to the United States," Romualdez said in a forum of the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines on Friday (November 8). — Report from Victoria Tulad, ABS-CBN News

It makes you vulnerable to changes in policies of the host countries you are in. Ambassador Romualdez view or "advice" to Pinoy TNTs is morally and legally correct. In case the concerned TNTs are waiting for the decision from ICS to give pardon for over-staying, I think they can wait for that decision. For the TNTs that didn't apply for pardon and those who applied for pardon but were rejected, it is best that they should leave the US and return to PH before being deported.
