Having walked past many of the sites today on the Heritage Trail, this film makes much more sense. I think it is excellent.

I worked in some of the Brickworks in Buckley back in the early 1970's, most had closed by the time I started (1971) but Lane End was still open, I believe it was in fact the last one to close. It was owned by Hansons by then (Hansons subsidiary Butterly Building Materials having bought the brickworks Trading ing under the Castle Brick Co name from British Steel in 1972) I worked mainly at Cathedrals, another ex Castle Brick Co. Site, which occupied the site that now houses Pinfold Lane Industrial estate, and another works they owned at Hooton on the Wirral. I was also at school ( the Elfed ) in Buckey from 1968 until 1971. The graphics for this very interesting video are stunning imo.

I lived in Lane End, actually Brunswick Road, as seen in the picture above the right turn into Church Road. I worked for a while at Hancocks and at the Castle Brickworks

Thats brilliant .. I am descended from the Catherall family who founded the brick industry in Buckley so this is brilliant.
