8 ELO - 'All Over The World' (reel tape, high res.)

Note: This video/audio may be blocked in some territories, due to it being from the movie soundtrack - "Xanadu".
Lost Planet Radio presents this track from "Xanadu" by Electric Light Orchestra - "All Over The World".
See the other songs in this series, as YouTube will not allow the entire studio version of the songs to be posted together. From a 24 bit/96KHz digital recording of a copy of a production reel used to create the LP and singles. I do not have the reel tape. A former staffer who used to work with distribution of the tapes for UA/Jet/CBS in the '70s-'80s does. He was gracious enough to allow that copy to be digitally recorded. Recorded from the reel tape to a TASCAM DR-07X digital recorder, then transferred to computer for audio level adjustments and editing. There was NO additional compression or editing of this song.
Note: This tape from 1980 is different from any previously posted tracks from "Xanadu" - that only contained the ELO tracks. This different tape contained the entire soundtrack and the single versions for ELO and Olivia Newton John. Jet records handled the soundtrack distribution for some parts of the world. It was recorded at a lower level and does suffer from some tape hiss, dropouts and splicing edits to make the tape longer. Lost Planet Radio did some careful remastering to bring the audio back to life. Where the splices that opened or ruined the tape, a few seconds of the U.S. vinyl LP were carefully re-EQ'd to match the tape and digitally spliced in on just a very few songs. Hopefully they are not noticed!
Of course, YouTube does its own downsampling and has a compression algorithm that can not be changed, to make the streaming better for everyone - so keep that in mind.
All credit goes to Electric Light Orchestra and Jeff Lynne, as well as John Farrar and Olivia Newton-John for Olivia's songs.
Enjoy!
