USA vs Wales - world cup 2022! First match of the tournament for the USA as they took on Wales at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar!

The USMNT put in a fantastic inaugral performance against Wales, who were returning to the competition after a 64 year hiatus. A strong first half, where the USA potentially should have been more than 1-0 up, culminated with a well taken goal by Timothy Weah, delivered by Christian Pulisic.

However, Wales were resurgent in the second half and when Walker Zimmerman fouled Gareth Bale in the penalty box late on, the scores were levelled. Both the US and Wales had chances in a frantic last 10 minutes but the points were shared in the end - 1-1.

A great showing from the USA in their first World Cup game of 2022.
