Being a damper, it acts in response of a speed and not a displacement as an input (like you are doing). Its effectiveness should be tested against very fast and abrupts inputs, otherwise you are searching for a steering shock (aka, a spring), and not a steering damper

How much resistance do you want??? it’s a stabilizing force not an unstoppable one

Ride with no damper and you will definitely notice a difference
