Thanks.... this is one of the better explanations of how the damn thing works that I've seen. Now if we could just find out what McJty was smoking when he came up with this

"They're a lot of fun to build"
Me 2 hours later, on the brink of crying, with no clue as to why my version doesn't even come close to a loop of 4 10 tick catches:No they fucking aren't

Some people don't seem to realize that as complicated as it can be to set up an endergenic generator properly, even an extremely inefficient can generate a lot of RF/t, and they are very cheap to build and run. On top of that, once you figure it out once, you can copy it for more. Though in an older version, I had an endergenic generator setup a little better than the one in this video, costing maybe 10 diamonds and some iron, yet generating more RF/t than a Big Reactor thrice the size using diamond blocks as coolant. I also was working on one in creative mode that was more complex and never reached the point of self-sustaining (gave up trying to figure out how to properly time the pearl injector to activate whenever a pearl was lost, while still being able to autofeed pearls into it), but gave an average of 10, 000 RF/t, with only 4 of the endergenic generators (which are the only expensive parts), more than a max size Big Reactor full of diamond blocks, but less than 20 blocks across on any side and only a block high, allowing one to stack more on top with a one block gap to generate even more RF (if only I hadn't given up on it... I wonder if I still have the save I had it in...). And even that wasn't the most efficient I had seen online, some capable of generating the maximum 12, 800 RF/t per generator (sadly limited in their sizes, but still unbelievably efficient). So yes, extremely complicated, but very well worth it (especially when the mod's dimensions require a lot of RF/t to maintain, or at least they used to), sometimes up to 5, 000+ RF/t to maintain, with death being the consequence of not maintaining them properly (but well worth it for a peaceful dimension of diamond blocks and resonant ender lakes)

I just ran some numbers and if you were to use 6 generators and placed each of them so that they have one block of open space between them in a rectangle (so 2x3 but really 3x5) it should cause the travel time to be 1 tick. then you would be able to set up the timing in such a way that every other tick is producing power, and the remaining ticks are spent in transit. however this would leave you relatively little space to work with and I would therefore suggest using a computer as a central timer.

This is surely awesome to watch with vanilla redstone, although I have no idea if it will work this well ^^

So direwolf you said that in each chunk sometimes the tile entities tick differently ? so what happends if you put each of those Endergenetic Generators in a different chunk ? For example like the generator being in an intersection of 4 chunks would that technically fix that problem maybe ?? also did anybody ever test what happends if you hit an Endergenic Generator with an Acceleration Wand ?? :D

Is the enderpearls "fly-speed" 1 block per tick?
Do they loose or gain energy (or no change) from the fly distance?
If so, what if you put 2 generators 10 block from each other and put a detect perl on them and throw it back as soon as it arives?

Dire needs to spotlight Mekanism again.

MY GOD I NEEDED THIS, THANK YOU SO MUCH

are the redstone-wires tickless?
don't forget about the /gamerule randomTickSpeed. you can only be precise, when the randomTickSpeed is by 0 i think.
because the randomTickSpeed generates now and then on a random block in a chunk some extra ticks. btw when you set this number high enough, you can have instanly growing plants.

just use a second tick on the middle sequencers to start the charging process

i wonder if you can fully automate it without the use of a button

what if you dont have the one probe in your modpack? is there another tool which could help to identify at which tick the pearls are received?

has no one noticed that Dire completely derped on the math? 1/20th of a second is 50 ms, not 5 ms.

My TheOneProbe wont show Last Pearl Arrive Time. It admits it got charged, it admits it was fired, but it wont show when it arrived and it wont make any RF. After a shot the capacitor above it got no RF. Does that not work in Unstable 4.2.8, or am I missing something?

I just made a setup of 12 generators in a circel, they all arrive at tick 10 except for the block that has the pearl injected. I can not get that to work at 10 tick. But I can build this up since I have no blocks on top of below the generators. So In theorie I could build from 256 to bedrock with generators.

I had to say, the Tick joke with a tick on wood is a nice joke

Actually, if a tick is 1/20th of a second, a tick is 50 milliseconds, since a millisecond is 1/1000th of a second.

I really need to make a large-scale reactor with a torus of 6 or so of these repeating in a stack. That would look cool as hell...

Hey direwolf, you don't think it would be cheating to make an opencomputer program for the endergentic generator?
