- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

some engine order telegraphs like the titanic ones have a position to give orders to close wt doors and some telegraphs can be used to lower or raise the ship's anchor as the telegraphs on steamships are on the bridge or the aft navigational bridge used for docking maneauvers. as the EOT are used on older steamships with propellers and paddle wheel drives as ships with two to four engines reciprocating and turbine there is a telegraph for each engine as when the bridge gives the order for each engine the engine room personel grants the order and moves the handle on that engine's telegraph to confirm the ordernand adjust the steam engine accordingly. as telegraphs for steam ships are used on ships with coal fired or oil fired boilers.
