Today we go over the New Amtrak Acela First Class Dining Menu items. Amtrak has collaborated with Stephen Starr and his restaurants Buddakan, The Continental Midtown, Pizzeria Stella and Adrian. These famous New York City restaurants will share some of their best menu items with Amtrak in their First Class train car.

We loved riding Amtrak Acela first class, and thought the Amtrak Acela business class looked great too.

As a Philadelphia native who has eaten at Star restaurants since the late 90s, this is a much needed and welcomed change to the Amtrak meal offerings.

Just rode Acela earlier this week. I boarded early in Boston, so it was breakfast - the creme brulee french toast was amazing (and the coffee was good, too). Didn't each lunch on the train, but some neighbors did, and the lasagna smelled incredible.

Good news, though as I'm unlikely to ride Acela anytime soon, I'm more interested in the return of traditional dining cars to the other eastern trains, like the Crescent.

Stephen Starr restaurants are so good. My favorite is Barclay Prime, Butcher and Singer, and El Vez in Philadelphia.

I used to be a regular Acela First class rider back in the early noughties and the food used to be great. They even used fine china and real utensils. I am glad I missed the bad food era and hope to start trAveling more.

Thanks for this exciting preview! I hope this bodes well for them trying these out on the Acela then launching these new food choices on all their other long distance routes. That would be amazing.

Your Acela trip was definitely after COVID hit. As an Amtrak Select Plus member (pre-COVID), I took Acela's First Class from Washington to Boston several years ago. Everything was served with glassware & china. They started with drinks & warm nuts & there was a selection of 4 meals (small plates) & 2 desserts. They were Ahi Tuna dish, Korean Short Ribs, a pasta dish, & salad with strawberries & goat cheese with a croissant. I tried 3 of the 4 because they served a meal between DC & Philly, another between Philly & NYC, & another meal service after leaving NYC. In between meals, they would come around with various bagged snacks too. This new menu looks like they are getting back to what they used to be more like.

One other thing to remember is amtrak folks in the section where they prepare the foods probably aren’t chef’s but probably trained like airline stewards to just prepare the food which is mostly prepared beforehand and just heated up on the train in a microwave or mini oven. Another great video guys! 👍

Hello guys. Good to see another great video from yall. I must say the title of the video had me confused at first. I thought it was the menu on the new Acela train. Until yall clarified it. As for menu choices, I would choose between pepper beef & lasagna. Although all for options look really good.

The lasagna looks really good. I don't think I've ever seen cheese layers that thick.

I was on Acela first class last weekend. This new menu was available and I was pleasantly surprised by it. I had the Lasagna al forno. It was really good. I immediately recognized that it was restaurant quality. Let's put it this way, ride Acela first class for a great lunch or dinner experience.

Thank you for sharing this with us! We saw the Acela train for the first time on our recent road trip to New England. We are already planning an Amtrak Acela trip for a year or two from now. Thanks for sharing this and safe travels!

I’m in the Acela for work all the time and I can’t wait to try the lasagna. Or the soba noodles!

Restaurants and food ads pay a lot of money for enhanced photos of their food. It will be interesting to see what it really looks like when it arrives. I also believe the meals will not be identical to the meals in the restaurant. Cost savings will be the decider.
