Quote by ROBERT SMITH ~ "All of our existence is spent worrying about the next generation, but we don't actually seem to get anywhere."

"Primary" Lyric ~ "The further we go, The older we grow. The more we know, The less we show." Isn't that the truth! How very well put to words and music by the prolific Robert Smith!!!

Had no idea until recently that one of my favorite Cure songs was just 2 basses and drums. Got to love Top of the Pops and their lipsync and no cables policy, lol.

1980s England fucknig aamzing!! 1981 dark days new flanger on that bass...Simon and Robert really had a sound perfected..The driving bass energy through the flanger pedal, as it doubles up even more!! wow "Those damn Brits know how to make Music!"

The Cure is a timeless band now. Love The Cure (Robert Smith & Simon Gallup) since I was a teenager (14 or 15 years old). Now I'm 58 & I still do love them. Poetry

I had goosebumps watching this. England was still English back then.

Here you can see Robert Smith beginning to develop his ✨aesthetic✨. The blue print of alt girls fr. But really, it’s crazy how much bands like The Cure have influenced music and the subcultures that come with it, yet are forgotten. At least forgotten amongst my generation.

The innocence of sleeping children
Dressed in white and slowly dreaming
Stops all time
I slow my steps and start to blur
So many years have filled my heart
I never thought I'd say those words

The further we go and older we grow
The more we know, the less we show
The further we go and older we grow
The more we know, the less we show

The very first time I saw your face
I thought of a song
And quickly changed the tune
The very first time I touched your skin
I thought of a story
And rushed to reach the end too soon

Oh, remember
Please, don't change
Please, don't change
Please, don't change

And so the fall came
Thirteen years, a shiny ring
And how I could forget your name
The air no longer in my throat
Another perfect lie is choked
But it always feels the same

So they close together
Dressed in red and yellow
Innocent forever
Sleeping children in their
Blue soft rooms still dream

This song makes me think of primary school like under 13 grade school..probably the best years of a person's life if you had decent parents or at least one decent parents or just peace at home.
