The steam overlay wasn't under scaled. In an 1800p setup it looks exactly the same as shown in the video. It is correctly scaled, it is just the resolution being big causing the steam ui to look tiny.

4K is still very hard to run even on the gtx 1080, but 1440p is a different story, you can achieve very good FPS on AAA titels even with a rx 480/r9 390/gtx 970 which makes this resolution way more attractive than 4K (and most people wont even notice the difference between 4K and 1440p

VSR allows your monitor to compress, anti-alias, from a higher than native resolution to a lower than native resolution "in-game". let's say 720p. But with 2x-4x better performance and....visual quality, than simply scaling from native/native, to a lower than native "in game" res. TRY IT!

The couple BenQ RL2455 panel's also max out at 3200x1800 using VSR.

Great video! Thanks for explaining to everyone that VSR is just a way of Supersampling and doesn't actually display more pixels.

I was wondering if it's same as the DSR from Nvidia or not? where i just choose the resolutions from game after i enable it, i may get in the future an AMD GPU, because atm im playing games in 1440p using DSR on a 27" 1080p native monitor and it looks perfect.

I was curious if this actually gives you the "look" of higher resolutions.... Or is it just some sort of tool you can use to test how your pc might perform at these sort of resolutions in case you wanted to get a better monitor?

were you recording your voice over late at night?
this video reminded me that my gtx 950 supports Nvidia DSR, so I am going to try that with CSGO just because, it's csgo. it would be fun to test

Cyberpunk on low settings with a amd ryzen 5 and a 6500m look great with the "1800p"

one of the things about using super sampling is that you don't need to keep the rest of the settings on ultra. you turn those down because the supersampling takes care of stuff like antialiasing. I always turn antialiasing completely off when I use super sampling

Hey Toasty Bros. Looking forward to building a pc soon and was wondering what is a good cheap headset like less than $100. Thanks

Title is pretty MISLEADING, 3200x1800 is not that close to 4K resolution, if anything it's actually closer to 3440x1440. Also the r9 390 would've gotten rekt in 4K on a more demanding game like say witcher 3 or rise of tomb raider but you guys probably don't own it so I understand not benching those.

Mine only goes to 1440p on a 1080p display and not 4k :/
My R9 390 did 3200x1800 (3.2k not 4k or 3.8K)
My RX 580 does 1440p max
