UPDATE: I played with it some more, and it turns out that even in constant voltage mode, the current setting in CC mode limits the maximum current. So for instance, if you set it to 5.00A in CC mode, and then to 28.00V in CV mode, the 5A current that you had set in CC mode is the upper limit for current. Mine was set to 000mA in CC mode, so it refused to output any power in CV mode. So beware, if you are using CV mode, and your device needs to draw more current than is set in CC mode, you must bump up the current in CC mode to match or exceed your required current draw.

I have subsequently done a detailed review of this power supply, and it's actually a great unit, especially for the price.

-------------

Also, the volt and current meters aren't even labled properly! Note how the voltmeter (on the left) is labeled "A," and the ammeter (on the right) is labled "V."

You are very confused about how this unit works, nothing is wrong with it, nothing is mislabeled. The V/A switch tells you which mode to adjust, the indicator lights tells you which mode is in operation. i.e. you don't switch between CC or CV mode. It will automatically operate in CC or CV mode depending on your two values and load. If the product of your load resistance is lower than your set voltage, it will operate in CC mode. If the product is higher it will operate in CV mode. All DC power supplies with a CC mode works this way.

The problem is in a switch A-V. Use dremel to increase gap there the switch is moving. It is just does not turn on necessary mode for make settings.

I got one but V and A are at the right place and it works fine, never had any problem with it.
But I think Banggood sent you a defective unit.
I did a lot of stuff with mine, used it as a laptop 19.5 v 3.75 a power supply, did electrolysis(copper, zinc, iron, aluminum) and electroplating on it. Use it for breadboard and circuits tests. It is working fine without any problem at all.
It ain't the best and it ain't the worst, it is just good for what you need it for.
Banggood are scammers, sometimes I think they collect factory trash, defective units and stuff that never passed quality checks/tests.

I've ordered the CPS-6017, already shipped, and some how I just noticed it's the 220V version, will that work with a regular house plug, USA

Well maybe you should delete your video then? I mean what is the point of keeping this video if it has incorrect information?
