For many years psychiatrists have looked towards electroencephalograms to better understand the biomarkers behind diseases including dementia, epilepsy, anxiety ADHD and more. But until now scientists lacked the technology to consistently identify these biomarkers. Now through standardization and AI-driven approaches, Quantitive Electroencephalograms or QEEGs may open the path to better mental health.

This is the focus of Korea’s iMediSync, a digital mental health care company established in December 2012. iMediSync is focused on providing a telemedicine platform by developing EEG biomarkers and digital treatment technologies for major neuropsychiatric diseases.

With mental health services becoming increasingly digital, a transformation accelerated by COVID-19, iMediSync is providing platform services ranging from AI brain health monitoring to personalized digital treatment, breaking away from conventional biopharmaceutical services. Monitoring technology, diagnostic technology, and Therapeutics technology are all integrated into their service platform.

In 2021 they released iSyncWave, a device which can monitor brain health through EEG measurement. In 2022 they introduced the iMedicin system, a 10 minute process that goes from measurement to analysis. This is driven by integrating iSyncWave into iSyncBrain, an AI automatic analysis solution which uses an EEG pattern database for all ages of healthy people that has been built for the past 8 years.

iSyncWave has obtained KFDA medical device approval as a dry EEG, and both brain function evaluation and Alzheimer's dementia early prediction algorithm provided by iSyncBrain have obtained KFDA approval, and FDA and CE are also in the process of aiming for approval this year.

Now, iMediSync is building a platform that allows patients to perform digital treatments such as LED Therapy and brain health games at home, approaches that can improve the activity of an individual's unhealthy brain area through expert remote treatment.

iMediSync is providing its services to hospitals and medical institutions in Korea as well as through school health, occupational health, and community health service providers. iSyncWave has already started exporting to Europe, Australia, and Singapore with clinical partners all over the world.
