E1000 Epic Is Now The Fastest Single Engine Aircraft In The Civilian World

A decade later, we have the EPIC E1000 Gx fully certified turboprop aircraft. A remarkable all carbon fiber design that delivers jet-like speeds, range, and payload.

Epic E1000 is a 4 passenger turboprop airplane with 2 crew members. Because this plane needs only one pilot to fly it, you can practically cary up to 5 passengers. Cabin is plenty roomy with ample leg room in the back. Compared to the smaller TBM 940 and Piper M600, the E1000 stands out in cabin space, payload and speed performance.
The only other aircraft I can compare this aircraft to is the Pilatus PC-12. When it comes to practicality and pricing, I'm still not sure anything comes close to the PC-12 in cost to value ratio. The Epic E1000 is certainly close. For a whopping $4.1 million dollars you can get your hands on a brand new Epic aircraft.

EPIC E1000 PERFORMANCE
Capacity: 6 people
Engine: PT6A-67A 1200 SHP
Range: 1560 NM (1794 miles)
Speed: 333 KTS (382 mph)
Price: $4.1M

I bought one literally the first day I could and I had my first flight in it 2 days ago. I've never experienced anything like it. The climb alone feels like you're in a fighter jet, which I've also flown in. I was averaging 4100fpm on climb out with 3/4 fuel and 3 passengers. So glad I made the right choice in getting one of these instead of a TBM or Piper

I have over 300 hours in this airplane. I can tell you it is legit. Full fuel, full payload and it still hits its published numbers of FL340 at 320kts. Burns about 48 gallons/hr. Having the ability to get that high gets us over most of the weather. Chicago to south Florida nonstop every time. Great plane for the money. Range? How about south Florida to Bend, Oregon with 1 fuel stop against the wind. Best in class.

They need more videos with this plane taking trips. But the specs on this plane are impressive, especially the cruise speed, service ceiling and climb rate!!

Really awesome! I first discovered this plane on X-Plane 11 and it's so great to finally see its recognition in the real world!

Great review! Cabin volume for the 960 is only 123 cubic feet. Epic is 184. That is a huge difference! The passengers in the back of the TBM won't have enough leg room if someone is across from them, unless it's a very short person or a child.

I routinely see on FlightAware these aircraft making 400 miles an hour over the ground eastbound!

I believe the PC 12 NGX has a max cruise of 290 knts. with a much bigger cabin and a further nm range and more payload. The Epic 1000 would still be a fast sports car that will definitely appeal to those seek sleek speed. Nice aircraft. Great review.

PC 12 NG has a WC - in the end, that's priceless!

If they can keep the maintenance cost in check, they will have an absolute winner. The TBM has some wild and crazy maintenance items that kind of negate the economy of the SETP, especially at 6 seats...

Thanks for the video Mike, but if I were going for a single engine turboprop, it would be a PC-12. Frankly, I think a single engine turboprop is a very expensive way to fly around the US and some destinations in the Caribbean. And of course the PC-12 has a bathroom, so there's that. Turbine engines are more reliable, but also more expensive to maintain. For me, I would go with a piston-twin if we're talking about that kind of range. If I need to go beyond that, then I would be looking at the Phenom 300.

Mike, this is my favorite airplane. Can't wait for this machine to be available in MSFS 2020.

Mike, Just for your information, neither the Piper M600 or the TBM 940/960 use Garmin G100NGX panels, they are both equipped with the Garmin G3000 system. Additionaly the Cirrus is Equipped with the Garmin G2000, wivh is basically a 2 panel G3000 system,

Mike - Follow your work and love it. For 4 mil. I'd take a King Air or a Pilatus with a restroom any day of the week - even if I am a little behind you in terms of speed. "Pilot" - 60 - After Mexican food, and plenty of coffee at 34, 000 feet - Let's just say the "grippers" don't work as well as they used to LOL....

Cheers !

That is a really nice bird. I saw your previous videos and I was skeptical that they would be able to become certified. Good for them! I want to see it fly! Be well brother.

Insanely expensive! It seems a bit small inside compared to the Pilatus. This plane suits the pilot who flies with just a couple other people and is in a big hurry to get where he wants to go.

I love turboprop planes, because they remind me of my youth, when I lived under the flightpath of an airfield where Vickers Viscounts and Vanguards, Fokker Friendships, and HP Heralds and Jetstreams regularly flew overhead, with the signature whistling sound always getting me off my feet and out the door, looking up to the sky. Single turboprop planes seems to be a very new thing, but not unwelcome. This looks purposeful, but I think, ultimately, the Pilatus PC-12 is the better aircraft.
