The three pyramids in Giza Necropolis are the most famous Egyptian pyramids but in fact, as many as about 140 pyramids in total have been discovered in the area of the Ancient Egypt.

The oldest Egyptian pyramid is believed to be the Pyramid of Djoser which was built in the Saqqara Necropolis during the 27th century BC.

While the Pyramid of Djoser is considered the oldest, the Pyramid of Khufu (also known as Great Pyramid of Giza or the Pyramid of Cheops) is the largest. The original height of the pyramid was 146.5 meters (481 feet), the current height is 138.8 meters (455 feet).

Until the Lincoln Cathedral was built in England in 1311, the Great Pyramid of Giza held the title for the world´s tallest man-made structure. It held the record for an incredible and unparalleled 3871 years!

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the last one still in existence.

The estimates of the number of workers involved in the construction of the pyramids differ significantly but it might have been as many 100,000 people.

The Giza pyramids are guarded by the Great Sphinx, the largest monolith statue in the world. The face of the Sphinx is generally believed to represent the face of the Pharaoh Khafra.

All Egyptian pyramids were built on the west bank of the River Nile, which as the site of the setting sun and was associated with the realm of the dead in Egyptian mythology.

I'm Egyptian and i know a lot of the Egyptian History
and lemme clarify some things

1- Jews never built the pyramids, never actually built anything in Egypt. it's been completely proven by dates. Infact the ancient Egyptian carvings and writings didn't mention ANYTHING about Jews, as if they wasn't even there.

2- Egyptians were not Black but Egyptians were not white either.

3- Aliens didn't help Egyptians build the pyramids REALLY -_-

4- There's tons of stuff you can see in Egypt from different times other than the Pyramids (because of the misunderstanding that Egypt only has the 3 Great pyramids) there's tons of huge magnificent Palaces, Mosques, Churches, Temples, Libraries, Citadels, and many other things in Egypt from different Empires such as Roman, Ottomon, British, French .. ..etc and other famous stuff such as Moses mountains and Sinai mountains. Since Egypt saw tons of different cultures and Empires and every culture, you can see these different cultures in the amazing stuff they build there. ALSO, there's alot of Mummies there, like ridiculous amount of mummies, in Fayoum, last month, archeologist have found a cemetary with over a million mummy. not mentioning the mummified cats, dogs, and crocodiles.

5- Islam never Opressed Egyptian christians when it conquered Egypt, When Amro Bin El- Aac opened Egypt, He protected the Churches and Christians, infact there was zero churches ever touched in Egypt when Muslim ruled it, if you don't believe me, Go to Egypt and see those churches yourself and now there is over 10 million christians living in peace with muslims.

6- I believe that the Pyramids were not just tombs for the kings but it has some cosmo/scientific reason to it, Orien belt, also the fact that in Ramses Temple, the sun lights enters the temple and enlighten ramses statue face (and only ramses face, although there's a statue next to ramses statue, the light doesn't reach it because the statue represented the god "Ptah" and since he was associated with underworld, the light deliberately didn't touch it) only 2 DAYS a year (on the day he was born and the day he became the king of Egypt) with such accuracy, make you think that with such magnificent knowledge of cosmos, The Pyramids may have beeb related to cosmos somehow

#11 Amazes me. This entire list amazes me. Ancient cultures seem so intelligent and just lovers of beautiful things. Almost everything from ancient times was elaborate and beautiful. I hate so many things were destroyed. I would've loved to see these pyramids in their original state, The Hanging Gardens, The Colossus of Rhodes (if it existed), and many more. :)

One more fact: the great pyramid of Giza does not have four faces, it have EIGHT faces, which can only be seen if photographed from above just before the sun set.

Whenever there’s a discussion about the purposes of pyramids there’s rarely mention of a book titled SEED OF KNOWLEDGE, STONE OF PLENTY by John Burke and Kaj Halberg (2005 Oak Park Books).
