Mr Gordon, Dexter, has always been one of the most prolific artists when it comes to jazz improvisation with the ever-fresh and and original harmony that is only on par and quite often surpassed the super grand maestros of the horn. His stamina to stretch out on his solos can only take out this talent of manipulating the tenor, his musical tool, to his graceful jazzy will as his so ably does so in this balladry standard here. He's really flourishing here in countless bars, with unrelenting effort to give out the beautiful multi-floral bloom that appeals not only to the cognoscenti of the idiom but to those also dying for true love.

Wow! #ClassicMonday #Jazz

His magnificence is unexplainable. The incomparable Kenny Drew the solid Neil Henning-Orsted Peterson and Alex Riel makes this a formidable Quartet. Dexter influenced so many of our greats including John, Sonny and the endless lists of others. This tune he owns. We love you Listen to the CODA, it is a composition within itself.

So pretty. I have all three volumes of Swiss Nights - this is probably my favourite composition on that series.
