2023 NEW: we created an easy script with a menu for you to adjust many settings! I reveal hidden settings on the T-Mobile Home Internet 5G Arcadyan KVD21 gateway including how to turn off the wifi! You can also adjust wifi transmit power, band steering, hiding SSID, etc. I provide step by step instructions to use windows powershell to send and receive info from the gateway to update the settings. Worked for me, and easy to use. One note that might prove helpful to users would be to exit Notepad after saving the new backup Config file. PowerShell wouldn’t run the file if it’s still open.

Do you have any ways to get around the double strict nat type for the tmobile home internet for gaming or any kind way to reduce it? I don’t think you have a video on it. It can make gaming impossible

Nate, That worked great. I modified the config, uploaded the backup version and no more wifi. Question, when I go in via the T-Mobile Internet App on my phone, there's no indication that the wifi is turned off. Boo T-Mobile. Also, I tried out the Nokia "Business" Internet and it stunk. So I shipped it back. I canceled Spectrum and am working on building a bridge to a datacenter using SoftEther to permit me to get access to my home VPN, Security Cameras and Plex. Ugh. Other than the lost of the services, the T-Mobile 5G Internet speeds are very comparable and at $30/mo. can't be beat. Cheers, Ken

First off, these are great videos thanks so much. I'm setting up my new Gateway. I have a mesh router currently. Do I attach the router to the Gateway first, then connect to the Gateway with either the script or the Hint Control to turn off the wifi. TIA

In w11 setting execution policy was not working, it set but script refused to run however this worked from an admin PS console - powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -File script.ps1 (replace script with name of your file

I want to add 2 more things, my power shell file would open and close fast no matter what i did i had to right click it and go to settings and unlock file to run.
also i had to rest my gateway password from the tmobile app, i was not aware i had actually change it. but i did so the txt file was empty every time i open it.

Hello! I just got it two days ago! It's running well for me! 550 to 640 mbps. (In a country where they don't haven't released it yet.) Got the latest model.

I saw that with the previous models, you could get the Data Stats (Usage) through the gateway IP. However, there is no such option on the new panel/menu.

Have you read whether or not it's possible to see those numbers with the new gateway model? Thanks!

On the 'Read-Host' (line 7) for getting the Gateway password, if you add: " -MaskInput" to that command line, it will not show the password when you type it. Just a suggestion.

Great addition to your T Mobile videos Nate! I have an Arcadyan modem never used but wanted a backup to keep on hand. ( Still using the Nokia). If I've never registered it yet, can i still apply this from a computer connection so it would be ready to go if needed? Many thanks! Anthony

Ive watches alot of these videos wanting to maximize my tmobile home internet abilities and have notice youve been testing 5g modems. Do you know of any rack mount 5g modems that would work with the home internet simcard

My macbook air won’t open the T-Mobile / Zach app because it says it can’t check it for malware. Is there a workaround ?
I assume that app will work on mac Os 13.2.1 ?
Also I have the newest T-mobile gateway the 5G gateway - G4AR, does the Zach app work with this router ??

I suspect this method has been patched. I tried for the first time today and after entering the password (which is 100% right) and select to download the config and make changes, it attempts to open the config.txt file that does not seem to get generated, so it asks to create a new blank txt file. I suspect its failing to download the config from the router. A real shame as I really wanted to change the settings on this P.O.S. I tried to connect to it with "Thunder Client" in visual studio code using the same URl's and info the script uses, but just trying to get the data returned from the login URI gives me "Not Authorized, Access token is missing or invalid" which is a tad odd since its the step before we make the auth token, so I feel something was changed with it. I have just enough experience with API's to make me dangerous, but not enough to figure out what is wrong, lol.

Hey, the script genuinely isn't working anymore. When I modified the script to see what was wrong, I got a bad request error when attempting to access the gateway: "This API is deprecated. Use v2 API instead."

Turning off one of the two bands should help some with heat, no? Nothing is really connected to either band as I run it into my mesh network.
