Camphor and coconut oil do not have any antibacterial properties. Camphor has a cooling sensation and it is a counter irritant. So many at times whenever there is some amount of mild inflammation, people have used camphor to give symptomatic relief in that area. However it does not have any antibacterial properties either in combination or Camphor or coconut oil.

Camphor is the only thing that took a weird rash away. I must have gotten it camping but not sure if it was from a plant or bugs. Anyways, after a prescription cream and multiple otc creams camphor finally worked. Seems to be an antiseptic to me but what do I know

I’ve personally tried camphor and coconut oil and it works. The scalp is totally cleaned especially during winter. There are no side effects either.
