Long Island, or Dugi otok in Croatian, is an island in the Adriatic Sea in Croatia, which administratively falls under the Zadar County. It is located in Northern Dalmatia and is the longest and one of the largest islands in the Adriatic. The Long Island is very indented, especially along the east coast, which is mostly low. There are numerous sandy coves on Long island and beaches like Sakarun. The largest bays in the northwest are Solišćica and Pantera, and in the southeast Telašćica, which is a nature park and one of the largest Adriatic natural harbors.

Along the west coast of Long island, facing the open sea, there are cliffs, among them Grpašćak, the highest in the Adriatic with its 166 m. Along the coast lie numerous islets; Bršćak, Golac, Katina, Krknata, Lagnići, Luški, Magarčić, Mežanj, Mrtovnjak, Mali i Veli Planatak, Utra ...
Between the limestone hills lie karst fields; Arnjevo, Dugo, Krajnje, Slotino, Stivanje, Srednje, and bays. in winter some fields are flooded due to prolonged rains.
Long island has no springs or watercourses, but it has a salt lake Mir which lies in the south. On the limestone soil of the central and western part of the island grows maquis and forests, but the south is pure rocky. The inhabitants are engaged in farming, grain, vegetables, sheep breeding, olive growing, viticulture, fishing and tourism, and some of them work in a fish cannery in Sali.
