I went to Moldova about 7 weeks ago to watch 3 UEFA Futsal games about 13 KM outside Chisinau but I stayed in the capital Chisinau. I didn't know what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised. For someone from the UK the prices were extremely low. For example a 13KM bus ride cost just 25 pence and was free for children. Taxis with their Uber equivalent app were also good value. A pint of beer was about 80p. My accomodation was very last minute meaning I had to take an expensive room for 3 days and then an expensive apartment for two days (both of which were top notch and around £60 a night including a full cooked breakfast). The back streets had a few pot holes (just like here) but I did not see a single person begging and people had a lot of pride in their simple accomodation (e.g. sweeping their own pavements each morning). We ate out a few times at Andy's 24 hour pizza (a first for me) and walked back to the hotel at 2 AM. The roads were quiet at that time and even young girls could walk home without any hassle. Lovely country and I do intend to return.

I'm from Moldova. Salary is ≈ 10 000 MDL ≈ 550$ per month. 550:30 = 18$ per day.
For comparison, a loaf of bread costs 7 MDL ≈ 0.38$
I am currently a student in Chișinău and with a few hundred MDL a week I can live without problems. My friends work because they want to buy some more things, but I refuse to work (even if I have the possibility to work) because I don't think that money would benefit me more than I am now. Personally, I don't think money would make me happy. I never understood why people put such a high value on money.
Yes, the Republic of Moldova is a poor country compared to the great powers of the world, but the current economic situation seems to me quite good and I don't think that the marginal benefits matter that much. Also it's important to mention that I'm only 19 years old and my opinion might be biased because I haven't experienced adult life yet.

Many clips seem to be unrelated with Moldova. I rather see no video clips than unrelated ones.

Dear Moldovians, forget joining Russia or EU, be proud to be your own lords of your fate. A good agricultural land is nature's gift, use it to the best.

A friend of mine born in Moldova but already living many years in another Country recently went back to study something in the Hi-Tech field for one year.
His motivation was that non-subsidized tuition in Moldova was about 1/3 of what he would have had to pay where he had been living and the level of studies in Moldova was apparently on a comparative level.
He has no plans to remain in Moldova after completing his Course...he says that he can earn multiple times the local salary elsewhere.

I have visited Suceava and Iasi in North Eastern Romania, which is not very far from Moldova. I also knew another girl from Moldova but she moved to Bucharest and work in model / fashion industry.

Sounds like a place ripe for investing in. Agriculture with plenty of land and people that would work for a steady good paycheck.
