I've been an audio technician since 1982. When Collective Soul released this song, every bar band in the U.S. tried to cover this song. Some were good, some were ok, some they shouldn't have bothered. After hearing this song thousands of times, Mrs.Partons cover is no doubt the best. We'll done!

Shine was one of the best songs of the 90s and the thought of anyone trying to match Collective Soul I'd say no to; let alone as a country song, but as usual Dolly is the exception to the rule. So glad this was in the Righteous Gemstones.
