Despite the annoying beep and graphic errors, it was a very worthwhile, clear explanation. I still don't understand what meta-analysis articles do when they pool data from articles that report RR and HR in some sort of combined effect measure.

When you say on social media, say, that if the incidence is relatively low and the last point you took is reasonably far from an endpoint (common in nutritional epidemiology), then OR, RR and HR are roughly the same, some statistics jock gets on your case. (WE are assuming you are comparing treatments that are not radically different). What are the conditions when RR (easy to visualize) can be taken as a rough measure of HR?

Now you confused me..why cant i apply relative risk at the end of the study? i can make a RR of total of all they 3 years at the end of the study and see how many deaths occured in exposed group / total exposed compared to the deaths of the unexposed group/total unexposed. I though that hazard ratio was the comparison of hazards ( rates at which events under a specified time during the study).
