I’d recommend some of the newer lidar roborocks; most of their newer ones have bigger processors which makes them even more efficient than the s5

Please get a cheap rug with a dark and light contrasting pattern on it and see if the cliff sensors on the robots you test are confused by it. I've gone through several roomba and roborock vacs looking for one that can get from one side of my office to the other. None work so far because I have a big 8x12ft rug with a black white grey and navy abstract pattern on it and it confuses the heck out of all of these vacuums. I have a really old vac with no cliff sensors and it bumbles around with no issues. I wanted something with an app but all the new ones can't navigate rugs with contrasting dark and light patterns. The manufacturers know of this issue, there are threads on their social media goin back 3 years, but instead of fixing the problem with an on off function for the cliff sensors, they tell you to stick tape over the sensor! $600 brand new S6 Roborock that needs office tape for it to work properly? WTF?

I tend to like the shorter videos, but one can always speed up a long one if necessary.

I bought this one as a Prime Deal of the Day for $188. It is my first robot vacuum. I love it for how well it works and for the price point. The lidar would be wonderful, but is not in my budget. I haven't seen missed areas at all. I have a pretty large house, but have only used it in the main areas, (wood laminate w/ a few area rugs) large living with a long hallway and a foyer, dining, kitchen and one all carpet bedroom-all at separate cleaning times. I've cleaned them all at least three times now.
Pros
It really sucks well. I'm amazed at how much it gets.
Battery life
Doesn't get stuck
I love doing other things while it is working. I feel SOOO productive
Can use magnetic tape-I like this way of creating boundaries for nonlidar RVs. So the tape is on my Christmas list.

Cons
The base is lightweight and sometimes it moves it around and can't dock.
I think someone needs to be home if it can't find it's base when it is done doing a large or multiple areas.
Doesn't come with the magnetic tape.
Like all robot vacuums it will not replace a regular vacuum nor does it do stairs. That's what my 17 year old son is for now. He's more expensive though. ;-) I can do them, but hey, ya gotta train them to take care of the home, too.

My Shark Apex Duo corded stick vacuum is a beast at sucking. So it still needs to be run on the carpeted areas in our home. I'm decluttering the other rooms downstairs so I can run the robot vacuum in them. The kid's room and game room....well??? That needs the Shark to clean. It just isn't a priority for them to keep it picked up and clean. It would definitely be a stress test for any robot vacuum.

Nice review. I have an E4 and I love mine haha I do agree if you have extra 100-200$ and bigger rooms then you should shell out to LiDAR equipped vacuum. I had the Eufy 25c but ended up returning due to random navigation I don’t like it

I personally prefer the longer videos. I like to see how well the robots keep their pattern also like to see how easily they make it back to the dock. I remember my very first robot that I had for 2 weeks before returning to best buy, it was the deebot N79SE and no matter where I placed that dock, carpet or hard surface and even having no objects near the base it wasnt able to dock on the first try. It always would be too far to one side or the other and half the time it would completely move the base making it unable to dock, the other half would take it a minimum of 5 minutes to successfully dock. But to sum it up my vote is for longer videos. Side note there was a report on the local tampa bay news Friday on how hackers are able to somehow hack into a lidar based robot and use the lidar itself to convert the information into sound allowing them to listen in on you, not sure exactly how this is done was kinda shocked to hear that it was even possible, but have you heard about this or heard if any of the lidar robot brands are releasing security patches for their apps? I'm sure they will eventually but Google this if you haven't heard about it already, it's a very interesting read.

Just bought this and on its way. Now I’m thinking of returning it and getting the tesvor with lidar. Its similarly priced. One thing I’ve read about the E4 is you can’t tell it to do more passes compared to the other higher priced roborock vacuums. And it does less passes on one run compared to the other higher end roborocks. Maybe if you run it twice back to back the results would be comparable like in your other E4 video.

I like Longer Videos! Also, have you tested the Shark VacMop Cordless Vacuum? Maybe you should try the Roborock s4 Max (since the s4 has probably been discontinued) as it is the cheapest LIDAR robot from Roborock!

Can you review the Shark Vertex corded vacuum? And I like when you speed the video up! Continue to do it! :)

You should move your robots to that big area you used to put your robots

Just bought this E4... reading comments and watching. But please help with this: can I schedule a cleaning of a certain room at a certain time of day? Thanks!

I prefer the longer videos. Since then you can see the behaviour of the robot and if/why it misses some areas like corners etc. Or you can just put in clips of the robot missing areas and only show that.

I'm really impressed with my Roomba i3. It manages to get to every part of my department despite using the same floor tracking system as the E4.

I like seeing the time lapse of the robot cleaning.
