What a Great Plane. Nice job of flying too. When it's in the air, you really can't tell that it's a remote job. Very nicely done guys. Great show.

Interesting conversation .The F89c was a high altitude interceptor, whose armament consisted of six nose mounted 20 km canon. The F89D replaced the C in 1954.Armament consisted 104 folding fin air to air rockets. As a radar technician I was assigned to the 74FIS stationed at Presque Isle. Maine.I do not recall if those tanks on wings carried fuel on the 89 C but those "tanks" were the launching platforms, each housing 52 folding fin air to air rockets that could be launched from a few to a total salvo. The D model came equipped with these rockets and replaced the 89C.

I've made a 1/72 scale model of this jet, I think it is a very distinctive shape.

One thing you did not mention, the wing tips do not carry fuel.  There are 54 1.75 air to
ground missiles in each container.

A T-2 Buckeye would be a closer comparison!
