It's been over 5 years since the first version of One UI was released. And now with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, we can compare the earliest One UI (1.0) with the latest One UI (6.1)!

I gotta say, One UI has definitely gotten a lot better than when it first launched. Both in terms of aesthetics (while still mainly keeping the same UI style) and in terms of functionality.

I remember using Galaxy C9 like over a year ago, it ran Android 8.0 (forgot the OneUI ver but I can look up later) which is pretty the same as earlier OUI 1.0, used for a few month before I broke its very fragile screen.
Now I have a new A05 with early access to 6.0 beta, I see it kinda changed at the quick settings menu which is quite AOSP/Pixel toward. Used a custom font so didn't notice the font difference tho lol.
But anyways, still love someone giving a comparison using a stock experience for a more general reference. Thanks for the video!

Back in 2019, I didn't know if I would be able to use One UI 1. Btw, My phone is Galaxy A10s which I currently used until now. Originally came with One UI 1, and upgradeable to One UI 3 (but I don't use it, as it make my phone sluggish like crazy)

What I like from One UI 1, although it may looks outdated today. Was simplicity. I remembered when I felt like, using it everything was made easier. Then I got update into One UI 2, still same but a bit sluggish (not as bad as version 3)

I like how the first version's control panel follows the material U design and the latest one doesn't

I sadly can't update to One ui 6 since my phone is the Galaxy A03 [Last version is Android 13 with One ui 5.1 core]. However I loved the oldest One UI versions [Android 11 was the best with the One UI 3 but I also loved One UI 2].

bro one ui 1 was and still is a bit ahead of its time, the features it already had back then are so good and some i actually prefer over the new one ui😢

I haven’t used a Samsungs for 4 years and even then the phone didn’t get one ui but I still recognize the entire layout of one ui 6 because it stayed the same all these years other than some areas. Especially the settings menu even if there is no language just by the location of them and the icon near them I’ll know what setting it is

One UI 6.X's background blur is worse than One UI 5.Xs, I think
Also background app closing on One UI 6.X looks soulless

The only thing that I dont like about samsung and other android devices is that it relies heavily on carriers to push updates and preload bloatware on your phone that probably even spies on you. Sometimes carriers are lazy to push updates on time and when they do they gotta first put their bloatware on them and modify the operating system according to it.
